Sarabråten is a place east of northern Nøklevann (Nøklevannet) (Key Lake) and west of Hauktjern (Hawk Lake), in Østmarka (the East Land) on the outskirts of Oslo in Norway. It has probably been settlement here from circa 1300. Only foundation walls are left today. A forest road goes through this place. Such roads are blocked of for ordinary motor traffic in this area. This whole scenery territory is a protected area. The forest path forward goes to Hauktjern. On the right side of the image, there are two war memorials for people who were killed in the Second World War. A sunny day like this, many people are out in this woodland. I think about how careful all are to this natural area. To find a quiet place, it is possible to take one of the smaller forest paths. To have rejoice of this forest, it is best to have a map and a compass. There are both a summer map, and a winter map, for Østmarka. It is necessary to be attentive regarding dangerous places like clifftops and other things. Saturday, August 8, 2015.
